2. Publishing app-ads.txt on the developer website (Step - 2):

This is very important to have a website for every developer. There are so many benefits to have a website. Such as: To publish an app to Google Play Store, developer has to provide Privacy Policy and Website Url. Despite that, you can also promote your apps through your website. Therefore, it is wise to have a website to every apps publisher.

Now I will publish app-ads.txt file at the root directory of my website. Here I am providing an example using one of my websites hosted by HostGator.

I will show you two ways to do this. I mean two ways to create .txt file.

Log Into Your Account – HostGator Control Panel

Click on the File manager. File Manager will be opened. Now you have to enter into the public_html folder. Then you have to create a .txt file. Click on below image for Zoom View.

................ 1st Way ................

To create this, you have to click on the +File icon. A pop up window will be shown. Now you have to write the file name as following: app-ads.txt

Now press on the Create New File. A file will be created in the public_html folder. Follow below images for better understanding.

Now select the app-ads.txt file > right click on the mouse and press Edit. A new window will be opened in order to edit the file.

Now you have to go to the AdMob account and have to copy the app-ads.txt code. See the image here.

Paste the code to the app-ads.txt file which we created inside the public_html folder. After pasting the code, press the Save Changes button. Now it is done so Close the window .

See the image here.

Now you have to check implementing app-ads.txt file is oky or not . Open your browser and direct url as the following:

www.your-domain-name.com/app-ads.txt

For my case the url will be as https://jonyapps.com/app-ads.txt

If you notice the following visible code, then you are sure that your app-ads.txt file implementing is okay.

  ................ 2nd Way ................

If you understand the 1st Way, Then you can skip the 2nd Way and can go to the Step - 3

To create app-ads.txt file in another way, Create a Notepad file on your Desktop. Rename the Notepad file as app-ads. Now you have to go to the AdMob account and have to copy the app-ads.txt code. Then paste the code to the Notepad File.

Go to Control Panel of your website> File Manager > Click on the Upload button from File Manager. A new window will open in another tab of your browser. Now click on Select File and upload app-ads.txt file which we created on the Desktop. Go back and check the app-ads.txt file, It has been uploaded. See below image for better understanding.

3. Adding Url to Google Play Developer Console (Step - 3):

Log in to the Google Play Developer Console form where you publish your mobile apps. Click on the app where you want to add the app-ads.txt url. See the image here.

Now Click on the Store listing button from Store Presence Tab. Now you have to paste your website url to the website section in the Contact details area. Now click on the SUBMIT UPDATE button.

Now it is time to wait because it takes time for AdMob to crawl and verify your app-ads.txt file.

Google says to wait at least 24 hours to check the check your app-ads.txt status.

Wow! After only 24 hours Admob verified my appsads.txt file. So the status icon shows green..
